By now I’m sure you’ve heard about Kanye West's outburst at the Video Music Awards. If not, the video is below.
Afterwards, West appeared on The Jay Leno Show. During the interview Leno mentioned that he had met West’s mother before she passed two years ago. He proceeded to ask West, “What do you think your mother would say about this?”
While the question made for some entertaining television I think it was kind of a low blow. Kanye West was wrong to interrupt Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, but to bring his deceased mother into play seems a bit cheap. The singer had already apologized more than once for his actions.
Am I being too much of a softy? Do you think Leno crossed the line?

Hey Sarah! It's amazing how much dialog this incident created. My thoughts:
I don't think Jay was out of line and I don't think Kanye needs or wants any sympothy from us. He's a big boy who regularily throws his harsh opinions around and is proud of it. Actually, I think his emotional response to the question only helped redeem him. After all, he switched the conversation from "poor Taylor" to "poor Kanye". As for the apologies, he posted one on his blog, then removed it. Told lots of other people he was sorry. But, he didn't actually apologize to Taylor until Tuesday after her appearance on The View.
I don't know, maybe I'm too harsh on consistently bad behavior.

Hi Diane. It's good to hear from you! I agree that Kanye's emotional response helped to redeem him in the eyes of many. Clearly, it worked on me at least a little bit.
I didn't know that he removed a posting on his blog.
Between Kanye, Joe Wilson and Serena Williams I think our celebrities need to grow up and learn what is and what is not appropriate behavior.
